初代Passport是本田推出的的第一款SUV(运动型多用途车)，于1994年到2002年期间生产销售。本次推出的新款Passport仍延续了轻型卡车风格，车型介于本田CR-V和本田Pilot之间。本田公司表示，新款Passport将在美国进行设计研发，并于2019年正式投入销售。 本田美国公司高级副总裁、本田事业部总经理Henio Arcangeli Jr.表示：“Passport是一款更私人、更强大、越野性能更强的SUV，既能满足舒适的日常驾驶需求，也可以完美实现周末的全天候越野冒险。”
